What is stored
Authentication is provided by Supabase and includes your email and account credentials. CiteNet stores your profile, submitted metadata, citations, ownership evidence, reports and moderation records. Authentication emails are not displayed on public creator pages.
Public and private information
Public posts, creator records and visible citation relationships can be read without an account. Ownership claim evidence and reports are restricted to their submitter and administrators. Account profile editing and account data are restricted by database access policies. Do not include secrets in public metadata.
Cookies and operational events
Authentication cookies maintain your session. Internal events record contributions and moderation activity to operate and improve the citation service. The application does not use advertising trackers or estimate audience reach. Hosting and authentication providers may maintain their own operational logs.
Correction and deletion requests
You can edit your account profile in Settings and request account deletion there. Report forms support corrections and removal requests for public records. Deletion requests require review; submitting a request does not immediately erase records. Public citation history and audit integrity may require removing account identifiers while retaining references.
Service providers and external links
The application is designed for Vercel hosting and Supabase database/authentication. Original social-media links and external avatar URLs are handled by their respective providers; opening them may disclose network information to those providers.
